Sportsmen,

I have some bad news to report. Due to an overwhelming lack of interest and participation the Federated Sportsmen's Clubs of Jefferson County
is officially disbanded, dead, terminated, no longer in existence . . . any way you feel makes it sound easiest to tolerate.

We have worked for 3 years to try to revitalize the "Federation" so the sportsmen of Jefferson County would have a voice with the New York
State Conservation Council, the Conservation Alliance of New York, and in Albany. Now, more than ever, the sportsmen of this county need
their voice to be heard. But, I guess it's just too much to ask for each club in the county to send representatives to one meeting a month and lend some support. The petty bickering and finger pointing I have seen/experienced is appalling. I have seen better behavior in a pre-school class.

I hope that each club will stay abreast of upcoming legislation that will take away our rights. You then need to take action, swiftly and decisively.
I
will not be doing it for you.

I will retain/maintain the records I have in hopes that this "Federation" will be reborn at some point in the future. If that day comes please contact
me through the Watertown Sportsmen, Inc.. I will turn over everything I have to the new board of officers.

With Great Disappointment,

Mark Houghtaling
President, Federated Sportsmen's Clubs of Jefferson County
